About me

I’ve had clients tell me they’ve been in therapy before (sometimes for many years), with a therapist that was a good listener, but the therapy seemed to go nowhere fast. Talking about your problems is important, and we’ll be doing that. We will also do more. 

I will help you tap into the intelligence of your mind and body in a way you may not have experienced before. This new relationship to yourself is key to healing.

We will use tools gained from the latest research to work with the parts of your brain that hold old beliefs and experiences that get in the way of you feeling your very best.

My Main Toolbox

The way I work is largely experiential (i.e., you having an experience in the present moment), meaning that we will use awareness of what is present in the moment, to explore with curiosity body sensations, thoughts, feelings, memories, and other present moment experiences. In this way, we touch the wisdom inside you. My approach is heavily influenced by:

Attachment Theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology

which basically means I pay close attention to how our early relationships shape the way our brains and nervous systems develop, and how we connect with others later in life. Some of us grew up learning that relationships are safe and comforting, while others may have learned to stay guarded, anxious, or to go it alone.

Parts work

I work with the parts of you that are stuck in the past (i.e., child parts), along with parts of you that are more connected to the present, and through improving the relationships between both.

Trauma resolution techniques

I’m trained in various techniques for dealing with difficult memories from the past. In our work together, we can choose the methods that are a good fit for you.
